Friends of Yellow River State Forest Trail Run/ Walk

Friends of Yellow River State Forest will be holding their Fifth Annual 5K and 10K Trail Run/Walk and Half-marathon on Saturday, May 11, in the State Forest starting at 8 a.m. Again this year there will be an additional family-friendly, fast and flat 5K on Friday night, May 10.

**Online registration closes at 11:59 on May 8, but walk-ins are welcome.

**Participants must register on or before April 21 to get a shirt. 

Friday, May 10, registration 5:30 p.m., 5K at 6:30 p.m. Cost $40
Saturday, May 11, registration 7:00 a.m., 5K at 8:10 a.m. Cost $40
Saturday, May 11, registration 7:00 a.m., 10K at 8 a.m. Cost $50
Saturday, May 11, registration 6:30 a.m., half-marathon 7 a.m.  Cost $60

Also offered again this year, the "Dirty Double":
Friday night run plus 5K on Saturday cost $70
Friday night run plus 10K on Saturday cost $75
Friday night run plus half-marathon on Saturday cost $80

All ages are welcome, children must be accompanied by a registered adult. The Friday night 5K will be family-friendly, but there may be some steps so strollers are not recommended. Well-behaved dogs on a leash are allowed.

New this year -- races will be timed!

Due to the use of existing trails the distances for Saturday 5k is actually 5.2k, and the Saturday 10k is actually 10.2k.

Check in will take place at 737 State Forest Rd, Harpers Ferry IA.

Friends of Yellow River State Forest is a 501 c3, not-for-profit organization. The mission of the group is to enhance Yellow River State Forest for public use  while protecting the integrity of the flora, fauna, soil and water. All funds raised by the Friends group are invested back into the state forest.
