SC Pecan Festival 16th Annual Run Like A Nut. Run like a Nut is 3 races, a Half Marathon, 10k, 5k. The sponsor is South Carolina Education Lottery. Half Marathon Course is USATF certified. Medals to all Half Marathon participants. CASH Prizes to top 3 male and female finishers in Half Marathon. 1st- $100 2nd- $50 3rd- $25 This race is a part of the Pee Dee Grand Prix Series.
The courses are very flat and fast as it winds mostly through median divided, established neighborhoods near downtown Florence. The run is part of the Downtown Development Corporation's 16th Annual SC Pecan Festival and all proceeds got to Florence Downtown Development Corporation. http://www.florencedowntown.com/pecan-festival/.
The race kicks off at the Fitness Forum, 2 blocks from downtown, so the participants can use the locker room facilities and walk directly to the festival once the race is concluded.
