RTA - Richmond Hebrew Day School proudly presents the RTA Run-A-Latke on Sunday, December 10, 2023!

The race will begin and end at the Weinstein JCC, 5403 Monument Ave, and loop through the residential area across the street. The 1 Miler will begin at 9:30am, and the 5K will begin at 10:00am. There will also be a virtual 5K option that will take place on December 10th. 

Enjoy a festive post-race party in the JCC with hot chocolate, donuts, and of course, latkes

Event Details and Fees

5K

This is an in-person 5K. Participants of all abilities are welcome. 

Registration fees:

October 15 - November 5: $30 per person (plus processing fee)

November 6 - December 8: $40 per person (plus processing fee)

December 9 - December 10: $45 per person (plus processing fee)

 

1 Miler

This is an in-person fun run/walk. Participants of all abilities are welcome. 

Registration fees:

October 15 - November 5: $20 per person (plus processing fee)

November 6 - December 8: $25 per person (plus processing fee)

December 9 - December 10: $30 per person (plus processing fee)

 

Virtual 5K

This is a virtual 5K. Participants of all abilities are welcome. 

Registration fees:

October 15 - November 5: $30 per person (plus processing fee)

November 6 - December 11: $40 per person (plus processing fee)

 

Refund Policy: If the race is canceled for any reason, the registration fee is non-refundable. Participants will still receive their t-shirts and medals if desired. 

 

In-Person Courses & Course Rules

5K

The in-person 5K starts and ends at the Weinstein JCC. The 5K will be chip-timed by Commonwealth Timing, and the chip-timed results will be posted on their website. You must wear the bib number assigned to you.

The 5K is a family-friendly event, beginning promptly at 10:00am!

- Participants of all abilities are welcome! 

- Runners or walkers with strollers or wheelchairs/assistive devices are permitted. If you run or walk with a stroller or are mobile via a wheelchair, we ask that you start at the rear of the starting corral.

- Registrants receive long sleeve performance shirts. Register early to guarantee your size!

- The top 5K finishers will receive prizes. All finishers will receive medals. 

There will be one (1) water station on the course. There will be water and other refreshments after the race.

 

1 Miler 

The 1 Miler also starts and ends at the Weinstein JCC. The course is a 1 mile loop. This event is untimed.

- Participants of all abilities are welcome!

- Runners or walkers with strollers or wheelchairs/assistive devices are permitted.

- Registrants receive short sleeve t-shirts. Register early to guarantee your size!

- All finishers will receive medals.

 

Virtual 5K

The virtual 5K is an individualized, untimed event designed for those who can’t make it in person, but still want to participate!

- Complete the 5K on the course of your choice! No bibs given.

- Times are not recorded or posted. 

- Long sleeve performance shirts and medals for local registrants only. Shirts and medals must be picked up in person; we do not ship shirts and medals. 

 

Please note that you are responsible for your safety for all events. Be alert, watch for traffic, and pay attention to fellow participants and course marshals. 

Should the weather impact the RTA Run-A-Latke, you will be notified Saturday night, December 9th.

 

Packet Pickup for In-Person Events

Please pick up your race shirt and bib on Thursday, December 7 at Lucky Road Run Shop in the Willow Lawn Shopping Center from 4:30-6:00pm. We strongly encourage you to pick up your race items before the race day.

Day-of pickup will begin at 8:00am at the Weinstein JCC. Please allow extra time for waiting in line.

Please wear your bib on the front of your shirt, about chest height. Only wear the bib number assigned to you - the 5K is chip-timed to your bib number. Race results and finish line photos can be found at www.commonwealthtiming.net. 

On-site registration (payment by credit card only - no cash or checks accepted) will be available at check-in on race day. 

 

Awards

5K Awards

Gift certificates from Lucky Road Run Shop will be awarded to the top 3 male and top 3 female overall finishers. Gift certificates from Lucky Road Run Shop will also be awarded to the top male and female masters (age 65 and over).

-All 5K finishers will receive a medal.

1 Miler Awards

-All finishers will receive a medal.

Course Map

Start and finish at Weinstein JCC, 5403 Monument Avenue.

Follow the course across Monument Avenue, down Peachtree Boulevard, left on Fitzhugh Avenue until it meets Stillwell Road, and then turn around to come back! 

The 1 Miler follows the same course, turning around at the first 1/2 mile. 

Parking

Please leave extra time to park. There is parking in the JCC parking lot, and there is overflow parking across the street at the Professional Center, 5500 Monument Avenue. We ask you to please avoid parking in the church parking lot Sunday morning.
