Gervasi Haunted Wine Run 5k

Packet Pick-up will be on Friday night from 4-6 pm on Gervasi Property at the Still House:  1700 55th St NE BLDG K, Canton, OH

We highly suggest attending packet pickup on Friday if possible to avoid the lines on race day, but race day pickup will also be available from 8:45-9:45am

The race starts and finishes at Gervasi Winery and features a mostly paved route along the middle branch trail.  You'll start with a tour of the amazing Gervasi property, enjoy a loop around veteran's park and finish at the Crush House!

We are excited to announce the local charity partner for this event is Save A Mom Rescue!!

Save a Mom (SAM) Pregnant Dog Rescue was started in October 2005 when our founder, Denise Jones, received a call from a local vet about a pregnant dog. She was found running in the park, having suffered horrible abuse, and not trusting anybody. The dog was named Sammie.

Save a Mom is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, no-kill rescue organization has provided pounds and shelters a safe place to send pregnant dogs, newly whelped litters, and orphaned pups. We specialize in helping momma dogs who require longer, more exhaustive care that most pounds and not all rescue shelters can meet.

Our priority is to save dogs from danger and euthanasia, ensure their well-being, and find them good homes. We are not breed-specific, and we do not pick or choose the dogs we rescue. As long as we have the needed space and funds, we rescue all dogs in need.

Food

Gervasi Vineyards welcomes all participants to join them after finishing the race at one of their restaurants on property. The Still House opens at 7:00am. The Crush House will be open with full service beginning at 10:30am, offering first-come, first-served hosted seating and casual fare. The outdoor Piazza will be open (weather permitting) with full service at 10:30am and, for your shopping pleasure, the Marketplace will also open at 10:30am

Parking 

There are just under 300 spaces on the Gervasi property, so please considering car-pooling. Please enter through the main entrance at 1700 55th St NE, Canton, OH and follow the instructions of the parking attendants.  After parking, you will walk to the Crush House for the start finish line.  Please plan to arrive early to get a premium parking location.

This event will be offering Age Group Awards!  In addition to scoring all of the great swag listed above, the top 3 finishers in each age category also receives a custom age group award!   

10 Year Categories: 19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 & Over

Important details: 

• Competitive Runners, please start with the first group to be eligible for an age group awards. 
• If your event has wave start times, age group winners must start with the first wave to be eligible for a pin. 
• There will be no age group ceremony.  Please look up your results at www.J3Timing.com after finishing and if you placed top 3 in your category please visit the registration table to pick up your award.
• Age Group pins will be available for pickup 1 hour after the start of the first wave - age group awards are only available the day of the event and will not be available for shipment once the event has concluded.

FAQ

• What about bad weather? The race will go on rain or shine.  In the event of severe weather conditions or lightning the race director may delay the start time. If so, you will receive an email.
• Is the race only for 21+? No, minors are welcome to participate and receive a discounted registration that includes a shirt, medal and bib (these participants will not receive a wine glass or a pour of wine).
• Are strollers allowed? You are welcome to use a stroller for this event but it is not recommended due to uneven ground on the course and children in strollers can participate for free and do not need to register.
• Is walking allowed? Yes Absolutely!  We have as many walkers as we do runners (if not more!)
• Is the race dog friendly?  Dogs are allowed at this event on a leash and on the course but are not allowed in the winery building.

Absolutely!  We have been getting many inquiries about virtual participation and have integrated a virtual option into our regular registration.

Please feel free to register through the regular registration link above and you can either: 

1) Pick up packet during packet pickup or on the morning of the race, but run on your own (hint:  wine ticket is still good if you use this strategy)

2) Contact us at any time to switch to the Haunted Wine Run Virtual Race and we'll ship your packet (There will be a $10.00 shipping and handling charge per person)

Also, if you intend on running, but later change your mind and would like to do either of these options, that's ok too!  If you are definitely going to have us ship your packet and run virtually though, we do recommend you follow the instructions below:

1). Go to runsignup.com/profile and log into your account.

2). Click on "Manage Registration" next to this race.

3). On the next page click on transfer to another race and choose the Haunted Wine Run Virtual Race.
